We are happy to be able to announce that the library will be open to the public Thursday at 2 p.m. Many unforeseen factors have caused the delay in opening. But we feel that all has now been cleared.

All classes from the school have been scheduled for visits before the Christmas vacation. We urge all students making these visits to bring in the books they have out so as to minimize our work and expense in getting back outstanding books. We are allowing five days for the return of all books before any fines will be charged. Thus if books are returned by Tuesday, Dec. 15, 8 p.m. they will not be over-due.

Our hours for the present are as usual; Mondays through Fridays, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Story Hour, Saturdays at 11 a.m.

We are proud of our library building and we know you will be, too. We continue to receive wonderfully fine and useful gifts, some of which are in the form of many hours of labor. We want the public to know all about these gifts and the Service League is presenting the library wit a “Gift and Guest Book,” in which each gift will be listed with the name of its donor. The book will be on display at the time of the dedication and thereafter. Dedication of the building will probably be late in January. The date will be set soon.

We have one display cart loaded with new non-fiction and reference books which we invite you to examine so that you will know your library has them. They are too numerous to list here and can better be appreciated if they are seen. They will be available for circulation at once. We also have a number of new fiction books for your enjoyment. More about that at a later date.

Work is progressing on the mural. The picture hasn't started to take shape yet, but an unbelievable amount of preparation has gone into the project and now the surface is almost ready for the actual paint.

The committee from the Garden Section has done some excellent groundwork on the landscaping and are ready to proceed as soon as a sprinkling system is installed.

So come in and get acquainted. Find out where things are so you will be able to help yourself to what you want. We look forward to serving you in the new quarters. We hope you come in large numbers and often!
