Library bond sale okayed by supervisors

Yorba Linda Star February 4 1970 page 1

Last Tuesday Orange County Supervisors approved the sale of $585,000 in bonds for the Yorba Linda Library District, which were approved by the voters in a small majority vote some time ago.

The 30-year bonds at 7% interest will cost the taxpayers a total of $780,820, almost 1½ times as much as the amount of the bond issue itself.

Only one bid was submitted on the bond sale. The funds will be used to expand the existing library at the corner of Lemon Dr. and Plumosa St.

The expansion will add 17,426 sq. ft. to the present building of 6,000 sq. ft. Work on the project is expected to be completed in 1971.
