A $30,000 library bond issue to acquire property for future expansion was approved by voters last Tuesday in a light election turnout. At the same time, Mrs. Patricia Shook was elected to the library board of trustees.

Only 210 of 2,932 eligible voters cast ballots in the bond election. Of those, 133 voted yes on the bond issue and 77 registered no votes. Mrs. Shook, who was unopposed, received 209 votes and there was one write-in vote.

The library board canvassed the ballots in a special adjourned meeting Wednesday. They have requested the board of supervisors to sell the bonds, and will begin negotiations for the 75 by 100 foot parcel south of and adjacent to the present library.

Mrs. Ted Citizen, librarian, said that there are no building plans in sight. She also noted that the election cost was approximately $5 per voter for each who cast a ballot in the election.
