Local Folks who favor issuance of library bonds in the amount of $1500, to be used with $900 of money on hand and a WPA allocation to total some 6 or 7 thousand dollars for erection of a new library building, but who are a bit leery of so voting for fear the WPA grant will not be made, may set their minds at ease and vote affirmatively.

Issuance of the $1500 worth of bonds, even though approved by vote of district residents, will not be carried out unless the necessary WPA grant is obtained, it is stated unequivocally by the district board.

“The $1500 alone would be of no possible use to us,” the spokesman for the board said. “If district residents vote to issue the bonds, we will immediately put in our application for WPA funds. If our application is granted, then we will have the bonds printed and sell them. IF not, we'll forget all about them.”

The contingent feature of bond issues of this kind is recognized or should be, as a vital one. Similar issues elsewhere have been approved by popular ballot but the Federal allocation turned down. Then the bonds were issued and sold over protest of the taxpayer.

There will be nothing kind in Yorba Linda, members of the library board assure voters here.
