Jessamyn West, formerly of Yorba Linda and now Mrs. H. M. McPherson [sic] of Napa, California, spent last week in Los Angeles where she interviewed a young paratrooper and his English bride preparatory to writing an article about them for "Life in America," series which has been running in the Ladies Home Journal.

While in the big California city Jessamyn also conferred with Raoul Rene DuBois, who will produce the musical drama in New York this coming winter for which she is writing the book and lyrics.

Other activities consuming Miss West's time on this trip included closing a deal with Frank Capra for motion picture rights to her book "The Friendly Persuasion." Mr. Capra will direct and produce the picture in the near future. "The Friendly Persuasion" has been purchased by one of the leading book-of-the-month clubs, and a publishing house in England has bought the English rights and will publish soon.
