Voters in Yorba Linda gave President Richard Nixon a good vote in the election last Tuesday. With about 81% of the eligible voters casting their ballots here, the final unofficial tally showed that Nixon received 5,827 votes to Sen. George McGovern's 1,408.

Nixon carried all 26 cities in Orange County and all unincorporated areas with the exception of Sunset Beach. All cities gave him a majority of better than 2 to 1 or more, except, Laguna Beach.

In Yorba Linda it was a little better than 4 to 1 in favor of Nixon.

Locally the race for Third District Supervisor perhaps drew more interest than the Assembly or Congressional races. In this race, Bill Phillips, incumbent, was defeated by Ralph Diedrich by a vote of 4,436 to 2,955 for incumbent Phillips. Both are residents of Fullerton.
